Pets Are Not Products Campaign Coordinator – Volunteer Position

The Pets Are Not Products Campaign aims to educate the public on the animal welfare issues associated with the retails sale of animals. Campaign activities include social media and letter writing campaigns; pet store demonstrations; and poster and flyer distributions. We are currently looking for a volunteer to help us coordinate this important campaign so we can continue to keep this issue in the minds of the community.

Job description:

The Pets Are Not Products Campaign Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, and Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate campaign activities, including social media activities, pet store demonstrations and other guerilla marketing tactics to raise awareness.


Volunteer Recruitment and Training

• Work with volunteer coordinator to recruit and train campaign volunteers
• Work with volunteer coordinator to support and engage campaign volunteers.

Planning and Implementation
• Assist Executive Director and Board of Directors to identify campaign ideas, including social media and on the ground guerrilla marketing tactics.
• Plan and execute spring/summer pet store demonstrations
• Plan and execute other campaign activities as identified

Time Commitment
8-15 hours a month

Qualifications and Experience

Campaign and/or program coordination
• Experience in coordinating large groups of people for single events
• Experience in coordinating program activities
• Track record of planning and implementing events

• Love of animals and a desire to make a difference in animal welfare


• Strong language and communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to give presentations to large groups
• Desire to share Paws for Hope’s mission with the community

Commitment to service

• Community service experience
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to fulfill a yearlong community service commitment
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others


• Ability to work well independently and on a team
• Maturity and good judgment in relating to Paws for Hope’s community partners, donors and corporate sponsors
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Availability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically
