Paws for Hope Animal Foundation Announces Guardian Angel Fund Grants Committee

The Guardian Angel Fund was established in 2012 to support responsible volunteer run rescue organizations in BC with emergency funding grants to assist with veterinary costs of animals in their care.

As we grow, our goal is to increase our funding support to our partner organizations that will enable them to focus more on the work they do best, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and abandoned animals, and less on fundraising. It is important that our work is transparent and that we are adequately representing the rescue community across our diverse province.

In a system that does not require any criteria or accountability to set up as a rescue, we wanted to create a structure that held us accountable and that will hopefully build the confidence of the rescue community and our donors. The purpose of the Grants Committee is to ensure transparency of our funding decisions and to work towards building a strong community of animal welfare and rescue organizations that work together to protect our pets”, says Executive Director, Kathy Powelson.
