Organizational capacity is paramount for animal rescue charities

Paws for Hope Animal Foundation’s mandate is to create sustainable animal welfare and purposeful companion animal protection in British Columbia, and we have long recognized that organizational capacity is critical to a sustainable system that can create meaningful change and improve the lives of animals over the long term.

Last week, we announced $10,000 in Organizatinal Development grants awarded to 11 rescue charities. These grants will help organizations upgrade their websites, purchase data management software, train staff and volunteers and to enlarge housing space for the animals in their care.

With no government funding and charities stretched to meet all the costs required to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned and mistreated animals, allocating resources for capital purchases like computers is very difficult.

But our generous sponsors at Pan American Silver Corp are helping us support the very important work rescue organizations are doing, by donating laptops as staff upgrade.

This week we are able to provide four organizations with laptops and over the coming months, we will be distributing more.
The first four recipients are Small Animal Rescue Society of BC, Vancouver Island Dogs Rescue, S.N.A.P.P.S and Reptile Rescue, Adoption and Education Society

A big thank you to Pan American Silver Corp for their ongoing support of communities here in BC and Latin America.
