Morely lives with his older sister Tia and his Mum in the Okanagan. He is currently in a lot of pain due to a grade 3 medial patellar luxation on one of his knees. Morley’s Mum, is a low income senior and despite living a frugal lifestyle, does not have the means to pay for the surgery that will fix the problem. And like so many of us who have pets, Morely and Tia mean the world to her.
She contacted Okanagan Small Dog Rescue (OSDR) for help and they went to work to see how they could help. They found a veterinarian who agreed to do the surgery at a reduced cost and they contacted us to see if we could help them help her. While we don’t have a formal funding stream that supports low income families with their veterinarian costs, we did want to help Morley so that he could stay with his family and not have to be surrendered.
We are pleased to be able to provide a $500 grant to help with the cost. OSDR still need to fundraise for the remaining $500. If you would like to help you can donate online
If you would like to ensure other animals get the veterniary care they need, you can donate to here
Thanks to donations like yours, Morley and Tia will remain together with their Mum
