On Sunday, March 3rd animals and their guardians came down to our free vet clinic at Russell Housing in New Westminster. When volunteers arrived at 10am to set up there was already a line up for our 11am start, and for the next 6 and a half hours Dr. Shawn Llewellyn saw 30 animals. Animals received a physical examination, vaccines (when appropriate), flea and deworming treatment (if needed), nails trims and ear cleaning.

Thanks to Vet technicians, Lisa Henderson (also Board member) and Lori Desrosiers, Board members Megan Ferris and Karen Au Yueng and volunteer Brodie Cairns, the day was a tremendous success.

One of the patients we saw, Cabo required rather serious dental surgery. Dr. Shawn will do the surgery at as low cost as possible and the balance will be paid for through our Roxy’s Fund donations. Preparations are being made and volunteers organized to help with transporting Cabo to and from the hospital. If all goes well, the surgery will be done Sunday, March 9.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this day possible. We hope this is one of many.
