Esther and Goldie

Pets improve our lives

Many seniors live in isolation. Many live in poverty. And for seniors living alone, having a pet has significant physical and mental health benefits.

This is Goldie, she is Esther’s constant companion.

In fact, she is Esther’s only companion. So when she become sick, Esther became very worried. The stress was compounded by her limited fixed income, and having no one to call upon to help. For these reasons, we were happy to make sure Goldie was seen by Dr. Llewellyn at Scottsdale Veterinary Hospital. Goldie was diagnosed with diabetes and a liver condition, both which can be managed with daily insulin injections and a special diet.

We are thrilled to be able to help keep these two best friends together for a little while longer.

We are only able to help families like Goldie and Esther because of the generous support of our donors. Find out more about our Roxy’s Relief program and the services we provide for homeless, low income and elderly pet guardianshere.
