The Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kirstin Gulbransen as incoming President.

Kirstin is a successful 20-year business veteran and Marketing executive specialized in helping small, resource-constrained organizations throughout North America transform from good to great quickly and cost-effectively. She’s also started and sold her own small business, worked in mergers & acquisitions (often project managing the integration of entire companies across multiple continents), and is a trained graphic designer and published writer. Although she comes from the high-tech and clean energy industries stemming from her Computer Science degree, her true passion is animals and applying her unique, hands-on business approach to non-profit organizations dedicated to their care and protection. She thanks her amazing cat, Freddie, for coming into her life over 12 years ago reminding her every day of this deep-rooted passion, and wishes every person and culture would understand the true gift all animals are.

Kirstin is looking forward to the opportunity to utilize her professional skills to help make a difference in the lives of animals.

“After some previous experience volunteering at shelters and other animal-related charities, I was attracted to Paws for Hope’s bold and unique mission to create a more sustainable approach to animal welfare in B.C. and to the particular programs it focuses on. I also saw a fearless, dedicated leader in Kathy backed by a compassionate, giving Board and volunteer team which I believe I can help with my unique background. I’m looking forward to helping make Paws for Hope one of the most efficient, impactful organizations benefiting other established animal charities and the many animals that need our help in B.C.”

Kathy Powelson, the Foundation’s founder and executive director is very excited to have Kirstin join the Board.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Kirstin. She really understands what we want to achieve, and she has the skills to bring us to a whole new level. I expect big things will happen for us in the next couple of years, and I can’t wait.”
