Effective immediately, Paws for Hope Animal Foundation will no longer be partnering with Bosley’s Pet Food Plus stores.

Since 2011, Bosley’s has acted as a donation drop off site for Roxy’s Fund, donating a significant amount of food and supplies to homeless, street involved and low income pet guardians. More recently, we had planned to partner with Bosley’s in New Westminster to co-host a Pet Care Day on March 3. This event was to provide vet care, including vaccinations, flea and de-worming treatment for those pets whose guardians are homeless and/or low income.
Bosley’s recently announced that some of its stores will be selling live animals. This conflicts with Paws for Hope’s mission to advance the welfare of animals in British Columbia. Like all animal welfare and rescue organizations in the province, we have serious concerns about the animal welfare implications of this business decision and we cannot continue a partnership with a company whose values do not align with ours.

We are aware that many community members were counting on the Pet Care Day to get their pet cared for and we deeply regret having to pull out. As such, we are planning to hold a community clinic in New Westminster in the coming months.

We look forward to building new partnerships with businesses in the community whose corporate mission supports our fundamental principles.
