Over the weekend, we received an email from Christine, a single mom to a five year old boy with special needs. Their cat, Minqua, passed away the night before after a long battle with Kidney failure. With limited means, they did what they could to help her with sub q fluids, force feeding her with prescription food, and famotadine. With her passing, they had exhausted their resources and were unable to get her cremated.
For many families living with limited income, the end of a pet’s life can cause additional stress when they are unable to afford euthanization and/or cremation. We believe that a proper farewell, is not only important to the grieving process, it is necessary and humane. Thanks to our donors, we were able to provide this for Minqua and her family.
