The purpose of Paws for Hope’s Veterinary Care Grants is to provide financial relief to qualified rescues to help ensure they are able to provide the best possible care to animals in need. Sometimes animals are helped through a partnership between rescue organizations and local municipal shelters. We have brought attention to the needs of animals in north in the past. Much of the help they receive is dependent on getting support from organizations in the south. Buddy is one of these lucky dogs. This old fella was rescued by an organization in the north and transported to a local municipal shelter. This transfer was made possible due to the commitment by West Coast Rottweiler Rescue to help with any medical care. At the time, it was believed, Buddy required dental surgery, however, as is not unusual when an older animal is rescued from an unknown history, Buddy required much more medical help then expected. He has been diagnosed with diabetes and a problem with his thyroid. This has created a much larger veterinary bill than planned, and our Guardian Angel Grant Program is able to provide funding relief of over $500 to offset the costs of the veterinary expenses.

Buddy is currently in a foster home, and will be available for adoption once he has been medically cleared. For now, we are happy to have been able to help those helping him.
